It has been 18 years since Vietnam ranked number one for exporting pepper on the world. In recent years, total export value of Vietnamese pepper has got over than one billion US dollars.

In 2001, pepper’s export value of Vietnam was 50,000 tons and at the moment , it increases to more than 200,000 tons each year and accounts for 60% commercial quantity all over the world.

Vietnam has been exporting pepper to more over than 100 countries and territories. With demands for pepper expected to increase about 2%/year, the government plan pepper as one of 10 agricultural products to have advantage to be exported.

Vietnamese pepper is exported to many markets such as Middle East area, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, China and United States,… United States, India and Pakistan are 3 biggest pepper markets of Vietnam with market-share 19,6%, 8,2% and 4,3%, respectively.
